2.22 KITCHEN

1
There is an amazing Michelin restaurant in Leipzig. I’m fed by the great chefs in this restaurant. Actually, I haven’t eaten regularly for a long time. I especially didn’t like to have lunch while working. Because I didn’t want to break the flow of work and feel tired after eating. But I realised that it is important to take a pause and take care of myself. Having great food from this restaurant made my life much healthier. This restaurant is in one of the classrooms of System design class at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.

2
The kitchen is located on the left side of the archy-shaped cupboard. On the right side, there are some books, paper, and odds and ends. The corner just next to the kitchen is the sink. There’s a cactus sponge that is always hanging, but it was never used even though they didn’t have a fresh sponge. People are kind of protecting the cactus implicitly. Below the tap, a yellow butterfly is killing(?) small flies..

3
All pieces of stuff are arranged with a “system”. A system is supposed to be maintained, and because it is kept, it allows for the creation of rules that can be broken. This kitchen has a variety of pots and cookers that people don’t know since when they have been existing.

4
There is a small fridge. Because of its small size, people don’t store food there, which means people can always have freshly cooked food. Sometimes people can find unexpected creatures in this space. These creatures are sometimes very visible, but sometimes not visible but leave their bodies odor. The shelf is from a bundle of metal plates that seems not used for a fridge. But it fits perfectly on this fridge.

5
We can see the jar that has never been fully filled and doesn’t seem to be filled in the future. But that doesn’t mean it’s worthless.

6
I’m a little confused when I see the face of the oven. Are you crying or smiling? or both? I can really relate to this face. It’s somehow my general mood.

7
Many deposit bottles are waiting for being changed to coins. However, the most popular beverage in this restaurant is SPRUDEL(sparkling water). The fountainhead is on the ground floor of the same building. People can get fresh and cool sprudel from there most of the time.

8
In this restaurant, people use one of the tables in the room to eat. Sometimes this table is decorated with some stuff. Sometimes it doesn’t have to be decorated cause the wonderful colours and shapes of the ingredients are enough already. Look at this colourful mode and duotone mode.

9
Sometimes, decorating takes place not only for the table before people eat but also for food while they eat.

10
One of the great chefs got a grill toaster as a birthday gift, and she decided to put it in this kitchen. On a very shiny summer day, the people(mostly graphic designers) were working hard as always. Some of them wanted to feel like to be in Venice, so by using this lovely grill toaster they made a sandwich session with Italian music and espresso with a lot of sugar. But no Aperol spritz cause people had to continue their works very well(?)..

11
Somehow the material and size of this grill toaster reminds me of a new MacBook design.

12
They set up a table outside of the room as well. Basically, the most important criterion for the location of the table is the location of the sun. Mostly, the sun comes through the windows in the hallway, so people have food there pretty often. Sometimes people find a place underneath a floor or get a random beautiful yellow table. Several kind pedestrians greet us when they pass us in this hallway, saying “Guten Appetit!”.

13
They also do the extened version. For making a cozy christmas dinner there were more chefs and more people who could enjoy the moment. Also, they made a special summer dinner in a different place.

2.22 Kitchen never stops creating, even though their fingers are bleeding. Recently, they made a food blog on the Instagram account @klasse_systemdesign.
